Contributions

Maintaining multiple Kubernetes clusters ranging from production websites to machine-learning nodes to internal development tooling.
Building a culture of cost-optimization across all development teams by providing access and graphing to each team’s cloud usage and incurred costs.
Maintaining Github, Google Cloud, Cloudflare and other PAAS/SAAS solutions with Terraform.
Mentor and educate teams on best practices and optimal use of deployed tools and resources with demos and private sessions.
Primary focus on observability and operations with tools like the Prometheus stack, Elastic, K6. tempo and fluentD.
Refactor all our helm charts from custom solutions to using official community-maintained charts saving time on maintenance.

Contributions

Test product integration with enterprise infrastructure through automated deployments and Infrastructure as code.
Created a terraform deployment code base to handle Infrastructure tests and use cases for on-prem and cloud deployments to support testing of our product.
Worked within TFS pipelines to deploy infrastructure code and build our software. Creating and improving where its needed.
Developed a Powershell module to interact with APIs provided by our software to enable easier interaction for Dev, Test and Dev-ops Teams for interacting with our product.

KPN – Devops Engineer

Contributions

Developed code to inventory and collect system information of all Windows hosts, housing the data in a MYSQL database for easier access and maintenance.
Develop an automation API to create and assign users and permissions in Active Directory from an external webhook. Written in Powershell.
Provided training in Python and Powershell languages to the KPN organization of Technium.

IPSoft - Senior Windows Engineer

Ensure wasteful and repeated processes are eliminated through automated, pre-configured solutions for corporate IT infrastructure within large multiregional corporations. Collaborate in the developmental process of building automations and monitoring solutions.

Contributions

Automated deployment of infrastructure and code with Powershell and DSC within Azure environments.
Assigned Technical lead to guide projects and infrastructure projects for priority client. While maintaining the current infrastructure.
Technical lead for EU based customer within an engineering team. Supported Hyper-V infrastructure, ADFS and Exchange. Developed and implemented automated procedures and monitoring checks where none were present.
Design, build and bug fix custom designed automations within a Windows based infrastructure leveraging Powershell and JavaScript.

Expereo International - Senior Windows Engineer

Sole Administrator responsible for operational support of business software and Windows Enterprise services. I also maintained a devops role in relation to in house solutions and software.

Contributions

Presented and received funding to move all datacenter hardware to a greenfield environment for better redundancy and reduction in costs. Responsible for planning an execution.
Designated subject matter expert on internal web software used in support of the business since I was solely responsible for the integrity of the platform.
Removed persistent issues with automated tooling and systems to allow better resilience within the companies demand to scale.
Supported Windows enterprise work within the company on premise and in AWS by introducing enterprise monitoring and standardization.

United States Marine Corps - Systems Engineer

^2007-2012

Maintained 4 Windows based, air-gapped environments along with their respective hardware while being in the Pentagon. Directly responsible for 1500 users and the hardware required for their daily work.

Contributions

Lead engineer responsible for migrating environment into a clustered ESX 3.5 environment. Responsible for the planning and execution.
Designated the subject matter expert for a full accreditation package in accordance with Defense Information Systems Administration (DISA) policy. This allowed users of a specific network to continue operations within their individual applications and servers. Following all government rules and regulations with regards to their software and hardware.
Redesigned from the ground up forest, GPO, and file sharing solutions for users.
Supported Windows enterprise work within the company via ADFS in a domain with over 200,000 users.

United States Marine Corps - Helpdesk Technician

Provide user-based support via phone and ticketing system while engaging in on-site assistance and troubleshooting for VIP users in the Washington DC capital region.
